Kayak Adventure In Turks & Caicos

The Turks and Caicos Islands actually consists of two separate groups of islands- the Caicos Islands, which is the larger of the two, and the Turks Islands. They are a British Overseas Territory (although the currency used in the islands is the US dollar) and are situated near the Bahamas. The islands are a famous tourist destination and enjoy pleasant weather almost throughout the year making it a nice place to visit in all seasons. This is the ideal place to try out a variety of water sports.

Kayaking is an activity that is popular throughout the world. It requires a little skill and exertion but can be loads of fun. One popular activity in the Turks & Caicos Islands is exploring the mangroves by kayak. The mangrove regions are bustling with all sorts of marine life just waiting to be discovered. Here one can encounter a variety of fish such as the Checkered Pufferfish, Lemon Sharks, Needlefish, Bonefish and Sergeant Majors, as well as a variety of birds including the Brown Pelican (the country’s national bird), the American Oystercatcher, Egrets and Herons.

A trip can last anywhere between a few hours to a day or two- interested tourists can get packages that include kayaking and camping. Scuba diving is another ‘must do’ activity. The waters in the region are filled with strange and wonderful aquatic life and scuba diving gives one a close up view of this exotic marine world. Those who would rather not go scuba diving can instead try snorkelling, which takes place at shallower depths. While it does not give the same exposure to the marine world, it can still be a fun and rewarding experience.

Tourists looking for good Turks and Caicos luxury resorts can try a place like the Parrot Cay Turks & Caicos. Day Tour To The Lowest Spot On Earth

While not a traditional holiday spot, the Middle East has become quite popular among tourists in recent times. The region offers some unique experiences that cannot be found anywhere else. From dune bashing to camel racing to camping in the desert, there are a variety of activities that one can enjoy. However, the region’s appeal does not end there. Instead, after indulging in the various activities, tourists have plenty of interesting natural, cultural and historical sights to explore.

The Dead Sea, also called the Salt Sea, is the lowest spot on land, and is situated roughly four hundred metres below sea level. The sea is over fifty kilometres long, measures almost twenty kilometres at its widest point and reaches a depth of around four hundred metres. It is among the saltiest water bodies on the planet and is has salinity levels that are over eight times greater than the ocean. The body of water was given its name as the high salinity levels does not allow fish or aquatic life to grow. It has received visitors from all parts of the world for well over a millennia, with many people coming here for health reasons.

It is possible to take a day trip to the Dead Sea via the cities of Aqaba and Amman in Jordan. There are buses that run through the area but the most convenient way is to hire a taxi, which is relatively inexpensive from Amman. The Amman Beach, which fronts the Dead Sea, is not well developed and one can find only a few beachside stalls. There are a few other attractions found in the region. These include the Dead Sea Panoramic Complex, the Mujib Reserve, and the Baptism Site.

Travellers planning on touring the Middle East should consider getting accommodation with a hotel chain like the Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Middle East. Guests can expect the same quality of service from their chain of Middle East hotels. With a range of Kuwait, Oman, Jordan and UAE hotels, one will be able to explore the entire region without having to worry about accommodation.

The Bani Yas Island is a large island situated approximately two hundred and fifty kilometres off the United Arab Emirate’s capital, Abu Dhabi. Measuring roughly eleven miles in length and about six miles at its widest point, the island is the biggest island belonging to the country. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a former ruler of the country, established a wildlife reserve in the island in 1971. The island is currently home to an astonishing amount of greenery and a large population of free roaming wildlife.

Not only is Bani Yas Island a place of exceptional beauty it also provides visitors with plenty of things to do. Going on a safari is one of the most popular activities on the island. Visitors to the island will get to see Arabian Oryx, Barbary Sheep, Urial Sheep, Sea Turtles and Sand Gazelles as well as a large variety of birds. Adrenalin junkies heading to this remote corner of Asia can select a number of engaging tours that tests one’s physical stamina while challenging preconceived notions of this exotic holiday location. Hikers can trek the sacred realm of the “tiger’s den” monastic institution which lies on a gravity defying vertical cliff one meets after crossing the holy Lake Tsonapatta which in turn is contained within a centuries old rhododendron jungle. Visitors can also enjoy conventional celebrations of the Tsechu tribe in rural villages and enjoy local festivities such as the Jakar Festival of Haa town and other neighbouring villages. The trek to the countries highest positioned village and its holiest peak on the other hand is encompassed in the Laya and Chomolhari hike which takes guests along an off-track route to the Chomolhari base camp where visitors can explore the country’s Divine Mountain in its entire splendour. The yak-herding rural communities of the Layap are also part of the tour while mountain biking enthusiasts can also uncover Bhutan natural and cultural treasures along the country’s dirt laden winding roads that make for an interesting biking experience.

Kayaking and rafting fans can also get their feet wet in the Country’s six pristine rivers and their tributaries which are nourished by the Eastern Himalayas. Named Kuri Chhu, Dangme Chhu, Wang Chhu, Puna Tsang Chhu, Sunkosh and Mangde Chhu these idyllic rivers and their streams are all deemed perfect for rafting and kayaking excursions. Cutting across towering valleys and cascading plains the rivers join the Indian river of Brahmaputra at journey’s end.
