Best Time to Visit Desaru
Desaru is a year-round destination, and one of the best resort towns in Johor for families. For those planning a visit to the petting zoo, consider visiting in the morning or late afternoon for cooler weather and more active animals. Also, if possible, visit on weekdays to avoid crowds.
Getting to the Zoo & Entrance Fee
Located within the Desaru Fruit Farm, the zoo is a 15-minute drive from most family-friendly beachfront hotels, including Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas. Admission costs RM20, and the zoo is open daily till 7 pm.
The Animals Residents
One of the most wholesome things to do in Desaru, visiting this petting zoo means encounters with fluffy alpacas, adorable rabbits, and even a unique bearded dragon lizard. The zoo is also home to a variety of other large mammals and fish.
